The purpose of Three Sigma Inc. is to help organizations achieve and sustain superior performance.  Its name was chosen to symbolically reflect this commitment.  Lower case sigma is the symbol used in statistical theory to represent a standard deviation of a sample population.  Performance three or more standard deviations above the mean (three sigma) exceeds 94% of the other performers in the measured population.  Organizations operating in the "three sigma" range of their industry are clearly achieving superior performance.

Our History

Three Sigma was founded in 1994 to make the systems theory applications and techniques used by large corporations and military and government agencies available to executives of small and medium sized business and non profit organizations at an affordable cost.   

It was incorporated under the laws of the State of Illinois in 1999.  Clients include executives in industrial and service businesses, trade associations, non-profit organizations and boards of directors.
